About FabCafe Bangkok

FabCafe Bangkok

A digital fabrication cafe combining maker space facilities with a cafe, part of the global FabCafe network originating from Tokyo.

Kalaya Kovidvisith holds a Master's degree in Design and Computation from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). She co-founded FabCafe Bangkok in 2015 alongside Samustpon Tanapant and Chuta Sinthuphan. She also serves as Chief Innovation Officer and Managing Director of FABLAB Thailand.

FabCafe Bangkok is located near Ari BTS station and combines digital fabrication tools with a cafe atmosphere. The facility includes vinyl cutters, laser cutters, Formlabs 3D printers, and MakerBot machines, making personal manufacturing accessible to designers, entrepreneurs, and students.

Kalaya's research focuses on how digital fabrication and biotechnology create new business models for design. She was selected as a Global Entrepreneur Summit Delegate in 2015 and participated in Asia Pacific Weeks Berlin in 2016. FabCafe Bangkok hosts workshops, hackathons, and community events, and has participated in initiatives including YouFab Global Creative Awards, Air Hack (air pollution solutions), and the Precious Plastic project.
